Conn's third grade art students are taking their doodles online! For the first time, art students are using Edmodo, a safe, educational setting for sharing art with each other and creating digital portfolios. Ask your student to show you his/her Edmodo page from home!
For our first unit of specials this year, third grade students drew a little doodle on a post-it note, stuck it to a blank sheet of paper, and created a design to go with it. Students then searched their projects for the Elements of Art- line, shape, color, texture, space, value, and form. This helped students understand the role the elements of art plays in their own artwork and prepares them to discuss its role in other pieces of artwork we will see throughout the year.
We are also gearing up for our first quarter focus area, Arts Greatest Hits Volume 1. Students will be studying the classic of Art from the Renaissance through Post-Impressionism.
